Lancaster Bible College - Teague Learning Commons
The new Teague Learning Commons at Lancaster Bible College incorporates a Professional Resource Center, a music library that will house the world's largest international sacred music collection, a café and classrooms.
The 3-story, 43,000 SF Teague Learning Commons is situated in the future center of campus as LBC continues its northward expansion. Design elements include structural steel framing, and a combination of moment frames and braced frames for lateral resistance. The high-density file storage areas are located on elevated floors designed to support a heavy 270 PSF live load with limited clear height between floors. The building was designed with staggered “misaligned” floors relative to the center core. With the goal to achieve LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) Certification, the new structure was designed to utilize environmentally sustainable principles.
