Carolina Eastern-Vail Inc., better known to the agricultural community as CaroVail Fertilizer, is dedicated to servicing the farm community by recommending the best products and practices to improve long term sustainability and profitability.
Our team provided structural engineering services and prepared a life safety code review for design of an 8,500 SF fertilizer storage building. The facility was framed with composite roof decking on pre-engineered purlins bearing on structural steel rafters on load-bearing reinforced concrete walls. A series of 26-foot high concrete walls were designed to allow for storage of different types of fertilizer products in separate bins. Our engineers also coordinated and designed the mechanical catwalk access tower and conveyor/equipment support.
