Wayne Historic Addition
This project involved the careful renovation and expansion of a historically significant William Price-designed house located in Wayne, Pennsylvania. The goal was to modernize and enhance the existing structure while preserving its architectural integrity and honoring the legacy of its renowned architect.
Providence Engineering provided structural engineering services for a 1,000-square-foot single-story addition to a residence. The addition features a wood-framed roof supported by engineered wood beams and flat ceilings that seamlessly match the existing structure. Engineered wood I-joists, along with strategically placed steel beams and columns, provide a sturdy foundation for the floor. The addition is bearing on new poured concrete foundation walls and spread footings that are tied into the existing foundation system.
