I-81 Commerce Park
The I-81 corridor is one of the nation's most prominent distribution regions. Many Fortune 500 and logistics companies have settled here for the region's proximity to major urban areas of the East Coast and Midwest.
Providence was the Engineer of Record for Building and Structural Design for this new 1.2M SF speculative warehouse. The building includes 240 dock locations, a 36 foot clear height and 52’ column bay spacing to provide layout flexibility for tenants. The design includes structural steel framed roofs utilizing joist girders with steel roof deck. Perimeter walls are load bearing concrete precast panels on shallow concrete spread footings. The lateral resisting system uses the precast shear walls and conventional steel bracing. The floor is an industrial concrete slab on ground.
