Gettysburg College - Fourjay Welcome Center at Eisenhower House
Eisenhower House, which once served as the post-presidency offices of Dwight D. Eisenhower, was expanded with a two-story addition. Newly named the Fourjay Welcome Center at Eisenhower House, it now serves as the “front door” to the Gettysburg College campus.
Providence Engineering provided structural design services for the two-story addition that includes a large multi-purpose room where visitors can gather for informational presentations. The smaller second-floor rooms will be used by the Admissions office for interviews with potential students and their families. Steel wall-framing was provided to accommodate the open two-story atrium. Underpinning was required for the new basement adjacent to the existing building.
