Bowman Field
Bowman Field is Pennsylvania’s oldest, and the nation’s second oldest, operating minor league baseball stadium. It is currently home to the Williamsport Crosscutters, a farm team of the Philadelphia Phillies.
Conceived to improve fan experience with wider seats and aisles and new field-level views, the stadium structure and seating below the main concourse walkway were replaced, and dugouts were moved to traditional 1st and 3rd baseline locations. Providence designed the elevated seating bowl with a combination of steel framing and a reinforced concrete slab. Dugouts are framed with cast-in-place concrete walls with cantilevered concrete roofs. To correct deficiencies of the existing structure, Providence reviewed and identified deteriorated existing steel members and provided repair details and contractor support during construction. The project completion was fast-tracked to open in time for the Crosscutter’s 2017 opening game and the 2017 MLB game.
