Athens Medical Campus
The Athens Medical Campus is a four-story modular building and one of the largest permanent modular healthcare facilities in North America.
The Athens Medical Campus is a 100,000 SF building that features an emergency department with 13 rooms, fully equipped with advanced technology and resources, including CT scanning, ultrasound, lab services, and x-ray services. The campus also houses a comprehensive outpatient department offering services such as primary care, obstetrics and gynecology, ophthalmology, and more.
As the Engineer of Record, Providence Engineering played a pivotal role in providing structural engineering services for the modular superstructure, designed to bear on the site-built foundation (designed by others).
The modular building was erected on a site-built foundation that included a crawl space beneath the first floor, a perimeter wall, and interior piers and shear walls.
