We’re spotlighting another one of our employee-owners—Adam Love, P.E., Senior Project Manager and Branch Lead in our York office.
Adam focuses on delegated design submittals, including structural steel connections, Unistrut framing, and precast concrete. He’s also active with the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute, helping advance industry standards.
Question 1: What inspired you to join Providence, and what has kept you here?
I pursued Providence Engineering both to expand my knowledge base and working with fellow classmates that I graduated with at Penn State. I have stayed because Providence offers an environment of trust that allows me to be a project manager and team leader while also giving me the support I need to lead that team.
Question 2: What does being an employee-owner mean to you?
Taking ownership of the efficiency of my work and being proud to provide a cost effective product to my client.
Question 3: What’s a project or accomplishment you’re particularly proud of?
I would say a recent high seismic, multi-tiered project that has added many new skills to my engineering toolbag.
Question 4: Describe Providence in 3 words.
Wealth of Experience.
Question 5: If you weren’t an engineer, what profession would you be in?
Probably something related with food or nature photography.
Question 6: What’s the most unusual job or task you’ve ever had?
The Utz Line 12 Renovation. Checking the existing plank and steel to support new equipment proved to be an unusual task that combined my experience from precast to steel.
Question 7: What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Asking questions does not show lack of knowledge but trust in the guidance you are receiving.
Question 8: What’s one piece of advice you’d give your younger self?
Be diligent and lessen distractions.
Question 9: Who is/was your biggest role model?
Before he passed, Keith Smith was my biggest mentor.
Question 10: What’s one movie, book, or TV show you never get tired of?
Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy, both book and movie – Don’t Panic.
Question 11: What’s your hidden talent or hobby most people don’t know about?
Taking pictures of deep sky objects, like the Heart Nebula.
Question 12: What’s a fun fact about you that always surprises people?
I have a twin sister.
Question 13: What’s your all-time favorite guilty pleasure snack or treat?
Chocolate and peanut butter.
Question 14: What’s the first concert you ever attended?
Some punk rock concert – don’t remember the bands but there was a mosh pit.
Question 15: What’s something on your bucket list you’re hoping to check off soon?
Traveling to Glacier National Park in Montana.
Question 16: What’s your go-to karaoke song or pump-up anthem?
We’re Not Gonna Take It – always pumps me up to get it done.
Question 17: If you could have any superpower, what would it be, and how would you use it at work?
Definitely pause time to get caught up.
