Celebrating 25 Years and Revealing Our Updated Brand

We are excited to share that as of April 2017, Providence is celebrating 25 years of valued relationships and rewarding projects. Looking back on our journey we’re thankful for a consistent track record of steady growth. With our first acquisition with Ritchie Engineering earlier this year, we are now a firm of over 60 team members with offices in six locations. Our talented staff is able to provide engineering services in nearly all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Province of Nova Scotia. We’re truly grateful for the valued clients, trusted service providers and loyal friends who have made all of this possible.

As we have grown, we have worked hard to develop increased expertise in new categories. Services such as Food Process Design and Cold Storage have become pillars here at Providence. Technology and marketplace demands have also influenced the internal strategies of the company. One result is the creation of a dedicated team committed to Virtual Design Services (VDS). Utilizing the latest BIM technology, this team strives to provide state of the art VDS resources to the building design and construction industry.

With these significant enhancements, continued growth and the milestone moment of our 25th Anniversary, we felt it was time to begin the process of rebranding the company. “Looking back on the firm that was Providence Engineering in our earlier years and contrasting it with the larger firm we have become, it was clear to me and the rest of our leadership team that it was time to present ourselves differently, more accurately in the market. It was time to clearly state our service potential, our geographic reach and the depth and extent of our in-house engineering talent. Certainly we still, and will continue to, draw from the roots of the firm that was founded in Lancaster County in the early 90’s, but we have advanced beyond that firm today. As we look to celebrate our 25 years, we wanted to be sure our clients know who we are, what we’ve done and what we can do for them. We believe part of that message needed to be a “new look”. We are excited to launch into our next 25 years with a new logo, a new webpage and renewed commitment to the built environment and the design partners we craft it with,” – David Bernhardt, President.

Providence partnered with Hamilton Creative, LLC to guide the company through the rebranding process. The goal behind our updated identity was to embrace who we have become; a multi-faceted engineering firm equipped for the future, while also preserving the roots of who we are; our core foundation. Our new logo modernizes the typography consistent with our more contemporary and diverse offerings. The navy blue palette remains and has stayed with our brand from its inception. We have, however, introduced a new logo element that suggests a skyline with multiple building types. If you look closely, you can find our “P” represented where the buildings meet to help convey our focus on the building industry. The yellow accent was added to increase visual interest and further establish the modern approach. It may seem like a little accent, but the addition of some color was a big step for us engineers!

In addition to our updated identity, we hope you are also enjoying the significantly revamped and expanded website. We set out to create something that moves beyond a website to a resource-packed tool for you to access relevant industry news and also to provide you with an insider’s seat to the latest happenings here at Providence.

While we have an updated brand, a new and improved website and many beneficial improvements to our services and team, we’re proud to state that our mission and principles have remain unchanged. We continue to be advocates for the building owner, dedicated to the relentless pursuit of their vision. Whether your work requires structural expertise, food/storage design, cutting edge digital modeling technology or any of the other services we offer, we will deliver your engineering confidence as we have for more than 25 years.
