The firm establishes an interim leadership structure as its Board of Directors leads the search for the next president.
Providence Engineering announced a leadership transition effective November 5, 2026. Dana Ziegler, P.E. is transitioning from his role as President to Senior Associate, where he will support project work in the Doylestown office and contribute to company initiatives. This is a personal decision by Dana, and his leadership contributions and institutional knowledge are valued by Providence. Dana’s continued involvement will allow the firm to benefit from his experience as it moves forward.
To provide leadership continuity during the transition, Providence has established an interim Office of the President consisting of David Bernhardt, P.E., Chief Executive Officer; Carol-Ann Denning, P.E., Vice President, Operations; and Jonathan Dougherty, Ph.D. (Dr. J.), Vice President, Strategic Initiatives. The interim office will make decisions collectively and lead the firm until a new president is selected.

The Board of Directors will lead the search for Providence’s next president. An external search firm has been engaged to support the process.
