One Willoughby Square
Upon completion, this new 36 story tower will be the tallest commercial building in Brooklyn. The building will contain office and retail space, as well as a 300-seat school in it’s lower floors.
Providence prepared precast concrete erection drawings, fabrication shop drawings and structural designs for spandrels and related connections. The design of connections to the supporting cast-in-place concrete structure were very challenging due to numerous design constraints. Such restraints included interference with interior architectural finishes and HVAC equipment, construction tolerances, curtain wall channel embeds and rebar in the supporting structure. Several connection concepts were considered for this project, each one having its own pros and cons. Our expertise was essential to the design coordination process.
